In theory, you can stop the ActiveX from running from the Registry, but most likely you'll have to uninstall or disable the Flash Player using the Flash Player uninstaller, which you may already have done at this point. You might have to disable it from the Control Panel also, though (automatically re-enabling it may be a case of Adobe not flagging the uninstaller as having removed the Flash Player).
Once you have the uninstaller, you can run it by double-clicking on it. It will ask what you want to do. Simply select "Uninstall Adobe Flash Player". The uninstaller will remove the flash.dll from the Flash Player directory and cease to function, so you may need to manually delete it from you win32 directory.
I'm in a similar spot. I was asked recently to write an app which utilizes Flash Player. I'm completely lost as to how I can get this script to produce the necessary file for my app. I assume I'm supposed to be writing code that generates a SWF file and then loads that file in to my app. When the app starts, it then hands the SWF off to the browser. This is not my understanding or the understanding of my client. Can someone please explain to me how I write an app to utilize Flash Player, particularly since it requires a pathway through the browser?
