The Hardware Update Manager or Hardware Update Library is a component in Windows that enables you to search for drivers and other components. The Hardware Update Manager is available as one or more local repositories on the computer. You activate and configure these local repositories either in the dialog box or through the command line. The Hardware Update Manager can also be installed on computers that don’t have a local repository. You can download updates to those computers from the large central repository available at Microsoft Update .
Before you begin, be sure all other computers are turned off and that there is no software running that might affect this system. Also, make sure that you have a large enough drive and Internet connection for this download.
Certain other update sources can be accessed through the Download updates and patches page, Update Gallery . Select a menu item under the Update updates and patches heading, or go to What is the Update Gallery? d2c66b5586
